This orchid sanctuary owes its name to the charismatic Dracula orchid, which visitors can see along with the more than 2,000 other orchid species represented at the collection. This makes it one of the largest orchid collections in the world. It is located in the town of Guadalupe, province of Chiriqui, next to the International La Amistad Park, a biodiversity hotspot, and UNESCO World Heritage site.
